Recognized to the Rising Star List in 2017 and 2018, Pooja Chawla is a solo practitioner with a passion for Family, Criminal, Civil and Probate matters.  She serves as chair of the New Lawyer Mentoring Program with the Birmingham Bar Association and is a member of the National Legal Mentoring Consortium committed to developing better strategies for mentoring young attorneys.  A graduate of many state and local leadership programs, Ms. Chawla also serves as President of the Legal Aid Society of Birmingham Board of Trustees.  She received her J.D. from Birmingham School of Law in 2009.  Ms. Chawla is a native of India and has resided in Birmingham, Alabama for 17 years.  Ms. Chawla was recognized by B-Metro Magazine as one of Birmingham’s Top Women Attorneys for 2018.  She was also recognized by B-Metro as Top Flight Attorneys for 2019.  She can speak Hindi, Punjabi, English and French.

Active in her legal community, Ms. Chawla is a member of several local, state and national bar associations, and she currently chairs the Birmingham Bar Association's New Lawyer Mentoring Program. She also serves as vice-president for board member of the FBI Birmingham Citizens Academy Alumni Association and provides pro bono services for the Legal Aid Society of Birmingham, where she also serves as President for the board of trustees.
